About The Green Hand® Project

The Green Hand® Project | About The Project | How You Can HelpThe Blue Hand™ Project

From December 23, 2015 to December 31, 2017 – GP Cellulose will make a donation of $1 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF for every metric tonne of Golden Isles® fluff pulp purchased in China. The funds generated will go to support UNICEF’s water and sanitation programs in Chinese schools – helping to improve the lives of thousands of children in China.

Nearly 500 million people still live without adequate sanitation facilities in China. That is almost half of China’s population. This issue is especially urgent in China’s schools.

Lack of adequate sanitation in schools results in illness and missed school days. UNICEF’s water and sanitation programs in China are working to address these issues by:

  • Building, upgrading and maintaining WASH facilities
  • Instituting behavior change and awareness campaigns
  • Supporting health programs in schools

GP Cellulose will make a donation of $1 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF for every metric tonne of Golden Isles® fluff pulp purchased in China. All funds generated through the Green Hand Project will go to support water and sanitation programs in Chinese schools, helping UNICEF make schools healthy and safe for children.

By purchasing Golden Isles® fluff pulp, you can join GP Cellulose in helping UNICEF improve the health and safety of children in China. The funds donated will be used for WASH programs in the following locations:

  • Shule County, Xinjiang Province
  • Sanjiang County, Guangxi Province
  • Nayong County, Guizhou Province
  • Jianchuan County, Yunnan Province
